With this update, Manjaro Linux 15.12 (Capella) users will get all the latest security patches and software updates that were released during the week that has just passed on the upstream Arch Linux software repositories, as well as some Manjaro in-house built tools.
Among the most important software that got updated, we can mention Mozilla Firefox, LibreOffice, GNOME, KDE, Pamac, Intel Video Driver, systemd, Wine, Glibc, Mozilla Thunderbird, Palemoon, PackageKit, Haskell, Lumina Desktop, Deepin, Manjaro Tools, Arc Themes, and Manjaro Profile Settings.
“I’m happy to announce our ninth update of Manjaro 15.12 (Capella),” said Philip Müller on behalf of the Manjaro Development Team. “It is always good to check for updated packages, even we don’t notify you about them. As usual, people using our testing branch will help us to get snaps over to our branch almost smoothly.”
All the supported kernels have been updated
As expected with any new update pack of Manjaro Linux, users get the latest kernels. Therefore, Manjaro Linux 15.12 (Capella) now supports the Linux 3.10.97 LTS, Linux 3.12.54 LTS, Linux 184.108.40.206, Linux 3.14.61 LTS, Linux 220.127.116.11, Linux 3.18.27 LTS, Linux 18.104.22.168, Linux 4.1.18 LTS, Linux 22.214.171.124, Linux 4.3.6, Linux 4.4.2 LTS, and Linux 4.5 RC4.
Please note that Linux kernel 4.3.6 is the last in the series, as it reached end of life (EOL) on February 20, 2016. If you’re using Linux kernel 4.3, you need to move to the latest Linux kernel 4.4 release. Besides that, the Manjaro Linux 15.12 repositories have been synchronized with the upstream Arch Linux ones as of February 20, 2016.
All Manjaro Linux 15.12 (Capella) users are urged to update their systems as soon as possible if they want to receive all of the goodies mentioned above. More technical details about the package changes can be found in the forum announcement of the Manjaro project.
